RBC Capital tells investors in a research note that BFC Power is seeking approval to construct an up to 900 MW power plant in Laramie County, Wyoming using Bloom Energy (BE) fuel cells. The application indicated that Bloom’s fuel cells will be used as a continuous power source for the power plant with a total capacity of up to 900 MW, RBC says. The firm, which has an Outperform rating and $75 price target on Bloom Energy shares, believes the use of Bloom fuel cells in this application highlights a large behind the meter opportunity for Bloom.
