Wells Fargo notes that a negative pre-announcement from lawn/garden peer Central Garden & Pet (CENT) is more of a headline negative for Scotts Miracle-Gro (SMG) than an actual negative, as the latter’s results are likely much better. If it creates weakness in Scotts Miracle-Gro, "that seems interesting…consider buying," the firm says. Wells has an Overweight rating on Scotts’ shares with a price target of $100.
