Principal Financial initiated with an Equal Weight at Wells Fargo

Wells Fargo analyst Wesley Carmichael initiated coverage of Principal Financial with an Equal Weight rating and $79 price target. The firm says Principal Financial has a quality portfolio of diversified financial services businesses, but valuation looks relatively full. While manageable, real estate concerns/lower VII could continue to be an overhang, Wells argues.
