Deutsche Bank believes PPG‘s likely exit of its U.S. and Canada architectural coatings business is a “clear positive.” It is one of, if not PPG’s lowest margin businesses and will free up capital and management time to focus on businesses where the company can grow and win, the analyst tells investors in a research note. The firm says PPG has hard a time competing against Sherwin in the U.S. architectural paint business. Deutsche has a Buy rating on the shares with a $160 price target.
