PG&E to pay $45M fine for role in California wildfires, Bloomberg says

The California Public Utility Commission’s Safety Division is requiring PG&E to pay a $45M fine for its role in starting the second-biggest wildfire in the state’s history under a settlement proposal, Bloomberg’s Mark Chediak reports. The company agreed to the shareholder-funded penalty, and the agency will vote on the proposal at its November 16 meeting, the author notes.
