Paramount close to deal to purchase The Free Press, NYT reports

As early as Monday, Paramount is expected to announce a deal to purchase The Free Press, an upstart digital publisher, Benjamin Mullin and Michael Grynbaum of The New York Times reports, citing three people briefed on the matter. The acquisition would value The Free Press at about $150M and The Free Press co-founder Bari Weiss is expected to be named as editor in chief of CBS News, the people said.
