Owens Corning (OC) selected Prattville, Alabama as the location for its new shingle plant in the southeastern United States. This strategic investment will expand the company’s Roofing manufacturing network. The Prattville facility will operate a four-wide laminator capable of producing around six million squares of laminate shingles per year. The additional capacity will be used to manufacture high-performing products including the company’s Duration series, which feature patented SureNail technology for strength and durability. It will also support the biggest asphalt shingle region in the country, while enhancing service across the company’s entire shingle network. Construction on the 250,000-square-foot plant is expected to start in early 2026, with production beginning in 2027. The facility will create nearly 100 skilled manufacturing jobs, and operate leading technology including advanced automation.
