Shares of Nvidia (NVDA) are moving lower after DeepSeek-R1 went now live. China’s DeepSeek is a large-language open source model that claims to rival offerings from OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Meta Platforms (META), while using a much smaller budgets. DeepSeek’s release has raised concerns that technology companies could adopt more capital-efficient and cheaper approaches to artificial intelligence development. Nvidia shares are down 11%, or $15.66, to $126.96 in premarket trading.
