South Korea’s SK Hynix is planning to invest $4B to build an advanced chip-packaging facility in Indiana, Jiyoung Sohn and John Keilman of The Wall Street Journal report, citing people familiar with the matter. Operations could begin in 2028 and the company’s board is expected to soon vote on the matter. SK Hynix currently dominates the “high-bandwidth memory” market and serves as the exclusive partner to Nvidia’s advanced graphic-processor units.
