Novo Nordisk, Eli Lilly offer discounts for insurance coverage, WSJ says

Eli Lilly (LLY) and Novo Nordisk (NVO) are releasing discounts for its weight-loss drugs to gain an edge and to induce health plans to cover their costs, Peter Loftus of The Wall Street Journal reports. The companies are cutting as much as half off the price tags of the over $1,000-a-month medicines. Additionally, for those who pay out of pocket, Lilly introduced vials of Zepbound that cost as little as $399 a month. To compete, Novo Nordisk is ramping up its rebating, with average Wegovy rebates up to about 51% in Q2 from 35% a year prior.
