Norfolk Southern issued the following service alert: “Norfolk Southern continues to work through the impacts of Hurricane Helene which made landfall in Florida panhandle on September 26. Our Engineering team has made significant progress in clearing thousands of downed trees across the Southeast portion of our network including the Southern Appalachians. Norfolk Southern has also been working closely with power companies to address downed power lines that are impacting main line traffic. Customers with shipments moving through this area of the network could see delays of 72 hours.”
