Stifel analyst Benjamin Nolan lowered the firm’s price target on Norfolk Southern to $243 from $247 and keeps a Buy rating on the shares. Currently, there is "no short of adversity" for Norfolk Southern; the company is facing challenges with respect to demand, but also fallout of the East Palestine derailment, the analyst tells investors. While Q2 is going to be challenging, Norfolk Southern shares trade at a "meaningful discount" to the peer group and is positioned for longer-term growth, Stifel says.
