Nintendo of America told Kotaku’s Ethan Gach that it is restructuring the small group of contractors that helps test its titles and hardware in its Redmond, Washington offices. The result of the restructuring will be a major downsizing that comes amid broader layoffs in the video game industry as well as the reportedly delayed launch of the Nintendo Switch successor, Gach says, citing four current and former contractors. “These changes will involve some contractor assignments ending, as well as the creation of a significant number of new full-time employee positions,” a spokesperson for Nintendo told Kotaku in an email.
