Nike, Adidas, Skechers, other footwear makers ask Trump for tariff exemption

The Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America trade group sent a letter to the White House on April 29 asking for an exemption to President Donald Trump’s reciprocal tariffs. The letter is signed by 76 footwear brands, including publicly traded companies Nike (NKE), Adidas (ADDYY), Skechers (SKX), Puma (PUMSY), Crocs (CROX), and Under Armour (UAA). “Many orders have been placed on hold, and footwear inventory for U.S. consumers may soon run low,” the trade group noted.
