Newell Brands plans to cut roughly 500 jobs through the closure of eight North American distribution centers by the end of 2024, Bloomberg’s Leslie Patton reports. The layoffs represent about 2% of the company’s total workforce, according to the report. Newell plans to continue investing in training and automation at its 20 remaining warehouses and is planning to increase headcount at some distribution centers, adding back about 70% of the jobs lost over time, CEO Chris Peterson says.
