Puerto Rico governor Jennifer Gonzalez-Colon confirmed that New Fortress Energy (NFE) has finalized a seven-year agreement worth $4B to supply liquefied natural gas to the territory, Bloomberg’s Ruth Liao and Jim Wyss report. The interim pact ends months of tumultuous negotiations to renew a long-term deal for LNG to Puerto Rico, which relies on energy imports, the authors note. Shares of New Fortress surged nearly 40% after the news.
