Nestle has promised to work on boosting the nutritional value of its products after most of its portfolio was rated as unhealthy, Joshua Kirby of The Wall Street Journal reports. According to the results of an international nutrient profiling system the company has published for the first time, less than half of Nestle’s main portfolio is considered healthy. Furthermore, in its 2022 annual report, the company said 54% of its net sales came from products rated at the lower end of the health ratings scale. The scale rates products from 0.5 to 5 stars, with 0.5 being the least healthy products. Of Nestle’s products by sales, 17% had a rating of less than 1.5, a further 18% had one below 3.5, another 30% had a rating above 3.5, and a final 35% included those not generally subject to health ratings.
