While Musk’s multibillion-dollar pay packaged from 2018 was thrown out by a Delaware court, the package set the tone for other high-end pay deals, Theo Francis of The Wall Street Journal reports. More executives have received outsized pay packages and those packages have been larger in the years since Musk’s came to light. Large pay packages remain uncommon, however, with seven of the highest-paid CEOs in the S&P 500 receiving them, including Broadcom (AVGO) and Palo Alto Networks’ (PANW) CEOs.
