More U.S. customers are canceling their streaming services, WSJ says

Approximately 1/4 of U.S. subscribers to major streaming services have cancelled at least three of them over the past two years, Sarah Krouse of The Wall Street Journal reports, citing data from Antenna. This number was 15% two years ago, demonstrating how streaming users are becoming increasingly fickle. In order to retain customers, streamers are trying a range of tactics, including launching lower-cost ad-supported tiers, teaming up with rivals for bundled deals, and providing discounts. One in four people who cancel a premium streaming service resubscribe within four months, one in three do so within seven months, and half do so within two years, the Journal added, citing Antenna. Publicly traded companies in the space include Netflix (NFLX), Paramount (PARA), Amazon (AMZN), Warner Bros Discovery (WBD), Disney (DIS), NBC Universal (CMCSA), and Apple (AAPL).
