Microsoft currently spends roughly $1B a year getting third-party video games on its Xbox Game Pass subscription service, Bloomberg’s Dina Bass and Cecilia D’Anastasio report. The Xbox maker offers flat fees of millions of dollars upfront to add games from other publishers to the service, the authors note.
