Microsoft (MSFT) is close to an agreement with CISPE, an Amazon (AMZN)-backed cloud lobby group that would see the group of cloud providers withdraw a request for the European Commission to investigate Microsoft’s cloud-licensing agreements, Politico’s Mathieu Pollet and Mark Scott report, citing two industry officials with knowledge of the proposal. The deal would include a possible multimillion-euro payment to the trade association, they say, with one person saying separate payments could also be made to individual companies.
