Meta’s total investment in virtual and augmented reality is set to reach $100B this year as CEO Mark Zuckerberg declares 2025 as a “defining year” for its smart glasses, Tim Bradshaw and Hannah Murphy of The Financial Times reports. In its latest annual reports, Meta revealed it invested $19.9B in its reality Labs division last year, which develops its Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. The company sold 1M sets of these smart glasses in 2024, a person familiar with the matter told the Times.
