Meta Platforms will halt the use of generative AI tools in Brazil in response to the government’s objections to its new privacy policy regarding personal data and AI, Reuters’ Andre Romani and Luciana Magalhaes report. Brazil has the second-largest user base for Meta‘s WhatsApp after India, the report notes, adding that earlier this month, Brazil’s National Data Protection Authority decided to suspend the validity of Meta’s new privacy policy for the use of personal data to train generative AI systems in the country.
