Meta is opening its previously guarded Facebook Marketplace platform to classified ads rivals in a new attempt to comply with a European Union antitrust order that was accompanied by a $829M fine, Samuel Stolton of Bloomberg reports. The company will allow classified ad firms in Europe to pay to place their listings on the marketplace. The cost will be based on the number of times a user clicks on a button within the listing.
