David Goodin, president and CEO of MDU Resources Group announced that he intends to retire on Jan. 5, after a 40-year career with the company. The board of directors unanimously selected Nicole Kivisto, currently president and CEO of MDU Resources’ electric and natural gas utility companies, to succeed Goodin as MDU Resources’ president and CEO effective Jan. 6. She will become a member of the board of directors at the same time. Kivisto began her career with the company in 1995 and has held a number of positions of increasing responsibility, including previous roles as MDU Resources’ controller and chief accounting officer. She was named president and CEO of MDU Resources’ utilities, which include Cascade Natural Gas Corporation, Intermountain Gas Company and Montana-Dakota Utilities Co., in 2015.
