U.S. District Judge Margo Brodie in Brooklyn formally dismissed a $30B settlement between Visa (V), Mastercard (MA), and retailers to limit credit-card swipe fees after telegraphing earlier in June that such a setback in the litigation could be expected, Bloomberg’s Paige Smith reports. The federal judge issued the ruling on Tuesday and ordered all parties to get together and respond to the determination by June 28, the author notes.
