Citi Bike, which is operated by Lyft, said it is raising ebike per-minute pricing due to higher than anticipated battery swapping, insurance, and vehicle expenses which have made ebike fleet operations more costly than planned. Ebike fees will increase to 24c per minute from 20c. “To address high costs, we’re working with NYC DOT and Con Edison to pilot charging stations. A network of charging stations will reduce the need for van-based battery swapping,” Citi Bike added.
