Lyft plans to implement a number of safety and governance reforms to resolve a shareholder lawsuit accusing the cocmpany’s management and directors of not doing enough to prevent drivers from sexually and physically assaulting passengers, Reuters’ Jonathan Stempel reports. A preliminary settlement was filed earlier this week in an Oakland, California federal court, and still needs a judge’s approval, the author says. The ride-sharing company agreed to increase passenger awareness of the “Alert 911 Silently” feature on its app, as well as make it easier to report problems at any time to a live person, the author notes.
