Lufthansa IT failure leads to over 200 cancelled flights, Reuters reports

An IT failure at Lufthansa stranded thousands of fliers and forced flights to Frankurt’s airport to be cancelled or rerouted, with the airline citing botched railway engineering works that damaged broadband cables for the meltdown, Reuters’ Ilona Wissenbach and Hakan Ersen report. A Fraport spokesperson told Reuters that over 200 flights were canceled at the airport, which is one of the largest airports in Europe. The airline later said its IT systems were rebooting and that departures had resumed at the hub, the author say, noting that Lufthansa expects the situation to stabilize by evening. Reference Link
