Lightspeed Commerce has tapped a financial advisor to explore options, including a possible sale of the company, Reuters’ Milana Vinn reports, citing people familiar with the matter. The sale consideration comes months after the Montreal-based payments software maker replaced its CEO Jean Paul Chauvet with founder Dax Dasilva, the author notes. Lightspeed is talking with investment bankers at JPMorgan to evaluate its options and solicit interest from potential suitors, which could include private equity firms, the author says. Shares of Lightspeed are up 12% after the news.
