A U.S. District Court judge has determined thtat Sony did not infringe on Genuine Enabling Technology’s patented tech with its PlayStation gaming consoles and controllers, Gamesindustry.biz’s James Batchelor reports. The company first filed a complaint against the PlayStation maker in 2017, seeking $500M in damages as it claimed the consoles infringed on its ‘730 Patent, the author notes. The judge agreed with Sony’s argument that GET had “failed to raise a dispute of fact” and granted Sony’s request for a summary judgement of non-infringement, the author says, noting that the case has been declared closed.
