IAC, News Corp, NYT forming coalition to push for AI laws, Semafor reports

IAC (IAC), News Corp (NWSA), the New York Times (NYT), and other publishers are forming a coalition to push for AI laws and lead a lawsuit against AI firms who trained on their data, Semafor’s Ben Smith reports. “The thing that everyone wants to talk about is whether AI is going take over the world to eliminate humans and all that stuff,” IAC CEO Joey Levin said in an interview, adding that an AI takeover of the media “could be more profound than that sort of sci-fi fear.”
