HSBC Holdings is planning to offer institutional customers a custody service for digital assets like tokenized securities through a collaboration with Ripple Labs-owned technology firm Metaco, Bloomberg’s Anna Irrera reports, citing a company statement. The service, which is expected to go live in 2024, will complement HSBC‘s platform for digital assets issuance, HSBC Orion, and the bank’s system to issue tokenized gold.
