Housing downturn could fuel gains for residential REITs, Barron’s says

After a really bad year, the real estate sector is bouncing back. Real estate investment trusts, or REITs, gained 10% in January, the best monthly performance since January 2019, according to the FTSE Nareit Equity REITs Index. Residential REITs, in particular, could keep producing solid returns, Lawrence C. Strauss writes in this week’s edition of Barron’s.
