The most impressive demo of Google’s new Gemini AI model was “pretty much faked,” leaving users with less confidence in the company’s tech or integrity, TechCrunch’s Devin Coldewey reports. The demo, which “highlights some of our favorite interactions with Gemini,” wasn’t real, with Google saying “We created the demo by capturing footage in order to test Gemini’s capabilities on a wide range of challenges. Then we prompted Gemini using still image frames from the footage, and prompting via text.”
