Google rolls back wage, benefits rules for U.S. suppliers, staff firms, Reuters

Alphabet’s Google said it will curtail requirements that U.S. suppliers and staffing firms pay their workers at least $15 per hour and provide health insurance and other benefit, a move that could allow the company to avoid negotiating with unions, Reuters’ Daniel Wiessner reports. “These updates bring us in line with other large companies and simply clarify that Google is not, and has never been, the employer of our suppliers’ employees,” the spokesperson said.
