Google (GOOGL) on Friday proposed to make its Android agreements with Apple (AAPL) and other OEMs non-exclusive and allow them to unbundle Play Store from Chrome and Search in an effort to address a U.S. ruling that it unlawfully dominates online search, Reuters’ Jody Godoy reports. The proposal is slimmer than the government’s push to make Google sell its Chrome browser, which Google has called a drastic attempt to intervene in the search market. Google still plans to appeal once the case is finished, Godoy writes.
