Google (GOOGL) offered Cloud Infrastructure Services Providers in Europe, or CISPE, EUR 455M worth of Google Cloud licenses and EUR 14M in cash on the condition that CISPE maintain its antitrust complaint against Microsoft (MSFT), Bloomberg’s Samuel Stolton reports, citing confidential documents seen by the publication and people familiar with the matter. CISPE last week scrapped a complaint at the EU’s antitrust arm over Microsoft’s software licensing processes after brokering a deal to get fairer access to the U.S. company’s technologies. Google’s offer was contingent on CISPE maintaining its EU antitrust complaint into Microsoft’s allegedly abusive activities, and was also boosted by about EUR 6M in financial contributions from Amazon Web Services (AMZN) as part of its ongoing partnership with the association, the people said.
