Google in late-stage talks to buy AdHawk Microsystems, Bloomberg reports

Google is in late-stage talks to acquire AdHawk Microsystems, a Canadian maker of eye-tracking tech, for $115M, including $15M in performance-based payments, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports, citing people with knowledge of the matter. The acquisition is part of Google’s renewed push into headsets and smart glasses, and AdHawk’s staff is expected to join the Android XR team within Google’s Platforms organization after the deal closes, Gurman writes. The deal is on track to be completed this week, but may still fall apart, according to the report.
