Alphabet’s Google accidentally gathered childrens’ voice data, leaked the journeys and home address of car pool users, and made YouTube recommendations based on users’ deleted viewing history, among thousands of other staff-reported privacy leaks, 404 Media’s Joseph Cox reports, citing a copy of an internal Google database. On an individual basis, the incidents may only each affect a relatively small number of users, or were fixed rapidly, but as a whole, the internal database demonstrates how Google manages, or even mismanages, a very large amount of personal and sensitive information about people’s lives, the author notes.
