Contract talks between the United Auto Workers union and General Motors (GM) are reconvening midday Friday following intense negotiations, CNBC’s Michael Wayland reports, citing sources familiar with the discussions. Both GM CEO Mary Barra and UAW president Shawn Fain participated in the intense talks that began Thursday night and went into the morning, the author notes. The potential agremeent is based on a tentative pact the UAW reached earlier this week with Ford (F) and seems to be close to the finish line, the author says, citing three sources.
