General Motors said it is indefinitely furloughing roughly 160 staff at plants in Indiana and Ohio due to the impact of the United Auto Workers strike on certain plants, Reuters’ David Shepardson reports. The union said late last week it would strike at the car maker’s Lansing Delta Township facility that makes the Buick Enclave and Chevrolet Traverse SUVs after previously striking at the company’s Missouri assembly plant and 18 parts distribution centers, the author notes.
