French prosecutors from the Parquet National Financier have opened a preliminary probe into potential corruption linked to telecom group Altice (ATCEY), looking into suspicions of corruption of individuals who don’t hold public office, money laundering and attempts to conceal these offenses, sources told Bloomberg’s Benoit Berthelot and Gaspard Sebag. The French investigation, which hasn’t been previously reported, was opened in September, the report stated. Altice USA (ATUS) is the American cable television provider owned by Patrick Drahi, the founder and controlling shareholder of Europe’s Altice.
