Freddie Mac (FMCC) announced that Craig Phillips will join the company as executive vice president, corporate strategy and external affairs. Phillips “will oversee the company’s external affairs effort, which includes industry engagement, regulatory and conservatorship affairs and initiatives, corporate communications, marketing and public relations,” Freddie said in a statement. Most recently, Phillips was managing director and chief operating and growth officer of Grain Management, a private equity firm focused on telecommunications infrastructure. He was counselor to the secretary at the U.S. Department of Treasury between 2017 and 2019, serving in the capacity of Under Secretary for domestic finance.
