Foxconn founder Terry Gou announced a bid to be Taiwan’s president in January elections, stating he wants to unite the opposition and ensure the region did not become ‘the next Ukraine,” Reuters’ Ben Blanchard and Yimou Lee report, citing an announcement. Gou, the fourth person to enter the election, departed as Foxconn CEO in 2019 and made his first presidential bid that year.
