U.S. maker of football helmets and gear Riddell is exploring a sale, in a deal that could value it at around $800M, Reuters’ Abigail Summerville reports, citing people familiar with the matter. The private equity-backed company, which makes the helmets of most National Football League players, said it had engaged investment banks UBS Group (UBS) and Robert W. Baird & Co to explore market interest, the author notes. “The execution by Riddell’s industry-leading team, unprecedented growth fueled by innovation, and other positive developments make the company a desirable acquisition target,” Riddell said in a statement.
