The Food and Drug Administration is running behind schedule on its plans to finalize rules that would prohibit the sale of menthol cigarettes and flavored cigars, Jen Christensen, of CNN reports. The agency’s August 2023 deadline to work out the details is still listed online, but a spokesperson told CNN it will instead complete work on the rule “in the coming months.” Publicly traded companies in the tobacco space include Altria Group (MO), British American Tobacco (BTI), Imperial Brands (IMBBY) and Philip Morris (PM).
