Since the premiere of Amazon Prime’s (AMZN) “Fallout” television series last week, the number of players of various “Fallout” video games has shot up, Kotaku’s John Walker reports. According to Steam DB, which graphs player numbers of games on PC gaming platform Steam, 2015’s “Fallout 4” went from a peak of 24,000 active players last week to over 83,000 this past weekend, with 2010’s “Fallout: New Vegas” and 2018’s “Fallout 76” also seeing notable spikes, the author says, noting that “Fallout 4” and “Fallout 76” are also charting higher on Steam’s sales charts since the release of the Amazon show. The Fly notes that the games in the “Fallout” series starting with 2008’s “Fallout 3” are published by Bethesda, which was acquired by Microsoft (MSFT) in 2021.
