Electronic Arts (EA) is nearing a deal with a group of investors, including Silver Lake and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, to go private for as much as $50B, Lauren Thomas, Jessica Toonkel and Miriam Gottfried of Wall Street Journal report, citing people familiar with the matter. Discussions on price are still underway and EA’s current market cap is around $43B, the Journal adds. Shares of Electronic Arts jumped 8% to $181.57 before halting for volatility following the report.
