Dollar General price target lowered to $144 from $178 at Piper Sandler

Piper Sandler analyst Peter Keith lowered the firm’s price target on Dollar General to $144 from $178 and keeps a Neutral rating on the shares. The company reported Q2 miss and notable 2023 earnings guide down, the analyst tells investors in a research note. The firm says that while Dollar General is now investing further into labor and markdowns to clear inventory, it is not yet convinced that the elevated investments are done.
